Breaking The Status Quo Barrier

Breaking The Status Quo Barrier
I Chronicles 14:8-17
We all face barriers. Walls that stand in the way of our making progress and if we’re going to keep moving forward in our lives, we’ve got to learn to break through those barriers and get to the next level of living in our lives.
A wise man has said it this way:
“Wherever people find themselves in life, they usually possess the natural desire to move up. They want greater recognition. They want to make more money. They want to live in a better home. They want to advance and improve.”
The problem is that set backs, failures and roadblocks often discourage us and test our commitment to progress and growth
David  faced a daunting challenge immediately he was confirmed King,
Just like you and me he wanted to keeping moving forward but faced problems in doing so.
READ I CHRONICLES 14:1-17.
A breakthrough is when God generates a wave and sends it in your direction, and you ride that wave onto dry ground and a higher level of living in your life.
Like a breakthrough of water, God wants to send waves into your life. Waves that will smash walls that have been built up in front of you.
A breakthrough creates momentum in your life in a new and fresh direction
God wants to set a new course and give you momentum to help you move in that direction.
Look with me at verse 10:
“And David inquired of God, saying, ‘Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hand?’”
David was crystal clear about 3 things.
1. Who could help him.
2. What the enemy was.
3. What result he wanted to see happen.
There was no question in David’s mind that what he needed was a military breakthrough.
David did not pray about a political breakthrough, nor a financial breakthrough, nor a relational breakthrough, he prayed about military breakthrough.
What’s the principle here?
The principle is that if you and I are going to experience the breakthrough we need in our lives then we need to get real clear about what that is.
Do you need a breakthrough in your life? Do you know what that breakthrough is?? If not its time to be Crystal clear of what u want God to do for you.

“What I’m a part of is bigger than the part I play.”

Ephesians 3:10-21 New King James Version

10 to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, 11 according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him. 13 Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
Appreciation of the Mystery

14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,[a] 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Paul prays 5 things for believer and for/over the church:

-       that we would be empowered with strength v.16

-       that Christ will make His home in our hearts v.17

-       that we would be rooted (deeply) in His love. v. 17b

-       that we would understand His love v. 18

Note: Paul prays that we would have the power to understand His love, how wide, how high, how deep, how long and that we would experience His love. v. 19
These are things we should pray over one another and the church when this is done  the results are in verse .20

Do you have a big vision or a Life Time Dream for what God can do in your life? Because whatever you think or ask, He is able to do INFINITELY MORE!!!
What would it look like if God did more than we ever imagined?
We are a part of something so much bigger than ourselves lets go out and make disciples in His Name.

“What I’m a part of is bigger than the part I play.”

YOUR PAST

God doesn't waste anything Friends you are not defined by your past, always remember your past  prepares you for your future. Do not regret your past, as it is why you are in your present. always desire to learn from your past failures and successes to propel you to a better tomorrow. Your future  its never determined by your past but your future is determined on how you deal with your past.

Friendship

The greatest sweetener of human life is friendship. To raise this to the highest pitch of enjoyment, is a secret which but few discover. How well do we take care of relationships and friendships that God has given us? #foodforthought

Never Give up

Sometimes all I need is a verse or a phrase of Scripture to get my mind flowing and wrap my arms around all God is teaching me at the moment.
What do you do when life throws you unexpected problems? How do you keep going when your dreams are deferred?
Here are some things you need to consider before you give up:
  1. You never fail until you’re satisfied with failure. – Failure is not falling down; failure is staying down when you have the choice to get back up (story of David and Uria’s wife).  Sometimes you have to fail a thousand times to succeed.  Which means you haven’t really failed yet; you’ve just found a bunch of ways that don’t work.  So don’t get so hung up on a few failed attempts that you miss every new opportunity coming your way.  All of your ideas that don’t work are simply stepping stones on your way to the one idea that does.
2.      What you have learned is what’s important. – Life always offers you a second chance – it’s called tomorrow.  But this second chance doesn’t mean anything if you haven’t learned from the events of today.  You have to acknowledge your troubles but gather strength from them, and laugh at your mistakes but learn from them.  Getting a second chance in life is about giving yourself the opportunity to grow beyond your past failures.  It’s about learning as you go and positively adjusting your attitude and efforts toward future possibilities.
3.      Tough times are just part of life’s natural balance. – Life lives, life dies.  Life laughs, life cries.  Life gives up and life tries.  And life looks different through everyone’s eyes.  In fact, who you were, who you are, and who you will become are three completely different people.  And as you gradually grow beyond the person you were yesterdaykeep life’s challenges in perspective.  Hear life’s harmony, and notice the delicate balance.  Realize that life is like playing a grand piano.  The white keys create your happiness and the black keys denote your troubles.  But as you go through life’s journey, remember that the black keys also create music.

4.      Pain helps you grow. – Sometimes things must change so you can change.  Sometimes you must break a little so you can get a peek inside to see what an awesome powerhouse you are.  Sometimes mistakes must be made so wisdom can be earned.  Sometimes you must overcome heartache so you can begin to follow your heart again.
5.      Success is a way of living. – Don’t let your struggles become your identity.  Not everything in your life will go as you expect it to.  This is why you need to drop expectations, live in the present, and go with the flow, rather than against it.  Remind yourself that it’s perfectly okay not to be perfect.  Ultimately, success is not something you achieve, it is what you learn and how you grow as you deal with the realities of life – it is a way of living and being.
6.      You can choose differently. – The difference between a mountain and a molehill is your perspective.  And in many cases, the only thing in life you have control over is your perspective.  No matter what happens, YOU control what the meaning is, and what to do with the meaning you give to the circumstance.  Choose to react in a way that motivates happiness, love, or forgiveness, even when circumstances make that choice difficult.

7.      It’s not supposed to be easy. – Just because you’re not where you want to be today doesn’t mean you won’t be there someday.  Again, success is tied to long-term determination.  Successful people keep moving and trying.  They make mistakes, but they do not quit.  If things in your life aren’t happening as planned right now, that’s okay.  It just means it’s not the right time.  Life’s brick walls are not there to keep you out, they’re there to give you a chance to show how badly you want something.  They’re there to stop the people who don’t want it as bad as you do.

Get to Know God

Today’s devotion Friday 22nd March 2013
Palm Sunday will be here in two days, and churches celebrate it in different ways
Sometimes it’s good to let the truths of Scripture just wash over us and speak to us.
The Holy Spirit can use God’s Word to quietly comfort us with His presence and peace. Meditating on the simple truth and comfort of God’s Word as we thoughtfully read it can be unusually refreshing. Slowly and thoughtfully read this message and allow God to speak to your life
God created us to have unending fellowship with him, peace with our fellow man, harmony and joy within our family relationships, and to have dominion over the world in which he placed us. God equally gave us the gift of Choice. We can choose to follow Gods way or to go another way.
This choice of selfishness as lead to our earthly death, no peace with our fellow man, disharmony and sadness within our family relationships, and lack of proper care of the world in which he placed us. Because of this, our future has changed to one of eternal separation from fellowship with God after death, completely without hope of joy or peace. But through the blood of the lamb that was shed on Calvary we have hope to face tomorrow with courage and boldness
The Bible goes on to record how God provided the remedy for our chosen path of selfishness. He came to us in the form of his son Jesus Christ we can find this in John 1:14. This son lived a life of fellowship, peace, harmony, and joy in full fellowship with God. Though innocent of any wrongdoing, he voluntarily allowed himself to suffer and die as a guilty lawbreaker, and received upon himself the full penalty of our selfishness by death on a cross. God in the book of Philippians 2:5-11 tells us in our relationship with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus Who, being in very nature God did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledges that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
The wonderful conclusion recorded in the Bible is that this Jesus rose from the dead and returned to God. He is forever our representative before God. He enables us today to enjoy fellowship with God, peace with our fellow man, harmony and joy within our family relationships, and to exercise proper dominion over this world in which he has placed us. We need only to pray and ask him to come in and rule in our hearts and lives.
Simply talk to God and say, "Thank you, God, for loving me and sending your Son to die on the cross for my sins. I now choose to make Jesus the Lord of my life. Help me to be the kind of person that you want me to be. In Jesus' name, Amen."
You've made the most important decision you will ever make in your life. Jesus said, "If anyone comes toward me, I will not turn him away." He will be your answer to your questions on life's journey
